Getaway to Moab and Aspen

Zach and I were able to take a little trip over to Aspen. We stopped in Moab on the way down and did a little hiking in Arches. We could not get enough hiking, so in Aspen we did more hiking. We stayed at this awesome hotel http://www.stregisaspen.com/templates/index.php

Labor Day

Labor Day may have started out as a rainy day

It ended up being a nice day with a drink
and popcorn stand..........

that made a profit of 13 quarters. Good
job boys! (He wants to set this up everyday..
after all daddy goes to work everyday) Sam
has been asking me all summer to do this and
then I realized summer was almost over and
gave in. It was a good time....until we ran out
of cups.

Sunday Drive

Sunday is a good day for a drive, so we took the cousins and new jeep out to Promontory Point to check out these great trains.

Haircut before........during........after

I loved little Sam's long hair, but a six year old must decide these things for himself. I waited as long as I could, mostly to get the first day of school pictures with long hair. Then came the buzz.

First Day of first grade

This is my cute little Sam all ready for his first day of school. He is in the Spanish Immersion class at Eagle Bay, which means he gets half the day in English and the other half in Spanish.



So after taking my baby to school I decided to go shopping and we bought this
Jeep!

Summer Fun

On Monday nights during the summer, Sam had sleepovers at Grandma Arvella's (thanks mom!) Tuesdays and Thursdays were Fun Camp days put on by the city. Sam did lots of crafts and even solved some mysteries.
He kept himself busy by doing experiments like this one of adding food coloring to the strainer and taping up the bottom?
He loves to help his dad with the cars
and in the last two weeks before school, he took swimming lessons. This was his first year jumping off the diving board!
